Job Description Role: Data Analyst - Power BI Rate: $65.34/hour W2 Start: September 29, 2025 Duration: Through June 30, 2026 Location: Minneapolis - 3 days onsite required General Responsibilities: The client is seeking a Power BI Data Analyst to design and build real-time and near real-time dashboards that enhances their situational awareness capabilities. This role involves: • Transforming curated Delta Lake data into actionable visuals using Azure Synapse serverless SQL pools or Azure SQL. • Designing dashboards hosted in the Power BI GCC (Government Cloud) environment. • Collaborating with the Operations team to translate requirements into user-focused reports. • Operating within GCC constraints (no Microsoft Fabric). • Applying advanced SQL and DAX skills with strong dashboard design expertise. Work Description / Deliverables: • Create Power BI dashboards and reports to surface KPIs, alerts, and trends. • Use visuals such as tables, cards, gauges, and ArcGIS maps. • Implement DirectQuery, push/streaming datasets, or incremental refresh for real-time updates. • Build semantic models and author complex DAX measures. • Write and tune SQL against Synapse serverless SQL pools and Azure SQL. • Collaborate with Data Engineers to create curated views. • Gather and refine dashboard requirements with stakeholders. • Validate data accuracy and reconcile discrepancies. • Configure gateways, data sources, and workspace settings for GCC. Mandatory Skills: • Must have 3+ years building enterprise dashboards with Power BI (Desktop & Service). • Must have expert-level DAX and Power Query (M). • Must have Advanced T-SQL skills for query design and data validation. • Must have experience delivering real-time or streaming Power BI solutions. • Must have experience with Azure Synapse serverless SQL pools, Delta Lake tables, and Azure SQL. • Must have data visualization and UI/UX instincts. • Must have experience operating in Microsoft GCC or other regulated cloud environments. Desired Skills: • Power BI Data Analyst Associate (PL-300) or Azure Enterprise Data Analyst (DP-500). • Exposure to geospatial visuals or ArcGIS for Power BI. • Understanding of metadata-driven lakehouse architectures and medallion patterns.
