SAN / Server Administrator - Murfreesboro, TN Join to apply for the SAN / Server Administrator - Murfreesboro, TN role at Redstone Federal Credit Union Job Description Summary Administers and maintains the Credit Union’s server infrastructure and equipment; participates in day-to-day technical installation, administration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of systems, tools, software, and applications to ensure a stable server and storage environment with no unplanned downtime. Assists in researching, evaluating, and recommending new equipment and systems. Manages backup, archive, and restore systems, and performs related duties as assigned or requested. The SAN/Server Administrator position is distinguished from the Senior SAN/Server Administrator by the latter's responsibility for more complex system administration duties requiring detailed knowledge of servers and operating systems in both physical and virtual environments. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Performs systems administration for enterprise-level Windows and Linux servers, including installation, configuration, and maintenance in physical and virtual environments. Manages the VMware virtual environment. Administers SAN storage arrays, including LUN configuration and storage trending. Monitors system alerts, troubleshoots, and resolves errors impacting performance or security. Installs and tests patches, upgrades, and fixes for operating systems. Performs hardware and software administration for backup, archive, and restore solutions. Validates disaster recovery procedures to meet RTO and RPO guidelines. Collaborates with departments to evaluate new technologies and support their integration. Documents departmental work, verifies data accuracy, and maintains records. Performs data entry and updates databases and records as needed. Company-Wide Expectations Maintains professionalism and adheres to the Credit Union's values and ethics. Qualifications Education: Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, IT, Computer Science, or related field. Experience: At least 3 years of responsible systems administration in a complex environment; experience with SAN, Fibre, and switched networks. Preferred certifications include Microsoft Certified System Administrator and VMware Certification. Skills and Abilities Knowledge of Windows and Linux architectures, VMware, SAN storage, and network principles. Experience with enterprise backup and disaster recovery. Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills. Ability to operate standard office equipment and follow instructions. Physical Demands & Work Environment Includes sitting, standing, walking, lifting up to 25 pounds, and working in a typical office environment with accommodations available as needed.
