Job Overview We are looking for an accomplished Senior Azure Cloud DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team. This pivotal role is essential for driving the adoption of advanced cloud computing practices and ensuring the integrity and security of our cloud-based systems. You will be integral in auditing existing configurations and crafting optimal solutions across various domains such as networking, security, infrastructure as code, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD), and high-performance computing. This position requires a blend of technical proficiency and the capability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, particularly in the fields of Data Science and Public Health Informatics. Key Responsibilities • Partner with engineering teams to design, implement, enhance, and sustain cloud-based solutions aligned with organizational objectives. • Oversee the deployment and resolution of cloud infrastructure issues, while educating teams on cloud strategies and ensuring the security of the environment. • Guarantee the smooth operation of data storage and processing systems, adhering to established security protocols and best practices. • Provide support for various cloud services, including data warehouses and data pipelines, involving maintenance and configuration management. • Manage cloud infrastructure utilizing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies to ensure seamless integration and automation. • Establish and uphold a CI/CD (DevSecOps) pipeline for systems, services, and infrastructure, with an emphasis on automation and security. • Monitor system performance, proactively addressing maintenance and real-time issues. • Resolve identity management and authentication challenges to ensure secure operations. • Collaborate on complex problems, working closely with project teams to devise solutions and implement enhancements. • Develop scripts and automate operational tasks within a cloud environment by leveraging programming and scripting capabilities. • Ensure system uptime and performance in accordance with contractual obligations and performance standards. • Assist technical leads in formulating operational plans, documentation, and monitoring frameworks. • Adhere to industry best practices regarding cloud configurations, architecture, and security. Required Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field (Master's degree is advantageous). • A minimum of 6 years of experience in Azure cloud engineering, architecture, or DevSecOps. • Strong expertise with version control systems such as Git. • Proven experience in fast-paced, collaborative environments. • Practical knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and other containerization technologies. • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC), including PowerShell/CLI. • Comprehensive understanding of CI/CD processes, specifically GitHub Actions and YAML. • Experience in configuring self-hosted runners in GitHub Actions. • In-depth knowledge of Azure Identity and Access Management, Governance, and Security best practices. • Significant experience with Azure Batch compute and related services. • Proficient in Python or R for scripting and automation tasks; familiarity with data manipulation libraries is an advantage. • Experience designing and managing data pipelines.
