Inseego products and SaaS solutions are designed and developed in the USA. Position Overview Inseego is seeking a Security Development Operations (SecDevOps) Engineer. The Security Development Operations (SecDevOps) Engineer is responsible for the design, development, and implementation of web applications, command-line scripts, and diverse technical deliverables of the SecDevOps Team under Information Security. The SecDevOps Engineer will use agile methodologies and modern development practices to conceptualize, create, operationalize, and support bespoke applications that provide vital capabilities to Information Security and other stakeholders. Responsibilities Secure Development & Engineering: • Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications using modern frameworks and technologies (e.g., PHP, Node.js, Java, Vue.js, Python). • Create secure, high-performance APIs and write efficient SQL queries for relational databases. • Build responsive front-end interfaces using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. • Adhere to secure coding standards and internal development practices. Security Integration & Automation • Implement security best practices throughout the secure software development life cycle (SSDLC), including CI/CD pipelines, version control, and automated testing tools. • Develop automated security checks to detect and remediate vulnerabilities across applications, infrastructure, and containers. • Support vulnerability management efforts by conducting scans, analyzing findings, and collaborating with stakeholders on remediation. Cloud & Infrastructure Security • Secure cloud environments (AWS, Azure) by managing identity and access management (IAM) policies, encryption, and security controls. • Perform periodic administration and configuration tasks in Linux server environments. • Utilize open-source and commercial tools to improve security posture and development efficiency. Governance, Risk & Compliance • Ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations (e.g., PCI DSS, ISO 27001, SOC 2, CMMC). • Assist in monitoring, detecting, and responding to security incidents. Collaboration & Culture • Educate cross-functional teams on secure coding, SecDevOps principles, and emerging security trends. • Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and collaborative problem-solving. • Identify and address evolving technical requirements, operational gaps, and automation opportunities. • Lead technical workshops and contribute to team knowledge-sharing initiatives. Process & Documentation • Use version control (e.g., Git) and DevOps platforms for code management and team collaboration. • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for streamlined and secure software deployments. • Create and maintain detailed technical documentation to support development and operational continuity. Continuous Improvement • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices relevant to the role. • Work independently and as part of a team to solve complex problems and deliver secure, high-quality solutions. • Perform various technical, administrative, and other tasks as required. Required Qualifications • US Citizenship is required. • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience. • Requires 3 or more years of experience in SecDevOps. • 5+ years of experience in DevOps, application security, system administration, or web application development. • Security certifications such as SEC401, Security+, or similar. • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Bitbucket) and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible). • Experience with container security tools (e.g., Grype, Trivy) and securing cloud environments (AWS, Azure). • Proficiency in scripting and programming languages such as PHP, Node.js, Java, Vue.js, and Python. • Experience with REST APIs, command-line scripting (especially in Python), and developing user interfaces using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. • Strong understanding of secure coding practices and frameworks (e.g., OWASP Top 10, NIST). • Knowledge of application and infrastructure security tools and concepts (e.g., SAST, DAST, vulnerability scanners, SIEMs). • Experience working with relational databases and writing SQL queries. • Proficiency in Linux, including administration of web and application services. • Familiarity with monitoring and log aggregation tools (e.g., Sumo Logic, CloudWatch). • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. • Relevant certifications such as Azure Security Engineer, AWS Security Specialty, or OSCP are a plus. Preferred Qualifications • Experience with authentication and authorization mechanisms, including multi-factor authentication and federated identity platforms. • Knowledge of networking and network security platforms, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), SIEMs, web proxies, and content filtering. • Experience with cryptographic technologies, encryption, data handling and classification, and vulnerability remediation. • Familiarity with security operations orchestration platforms, infrastructure monitoring tools, and automation best practices.
