Your Next Exciting Challenge Awaits! The Multi-domain Solutions Division (MDS) is searching for a talented Lead Systems Administrator to contribute to a new and dynamic cyber security program. In this essential role, you'll support critical government systems, ensuring the development, integration, delivery, and ongoing maintenance of IT managed security services. This position is anticipated to be part of an upcoming contract award! Key Responsibilities: • Manage and secure IT infrastructure to ensure reliability, scalability, and optimal performance. • Oversee installation, configuration, and maintenance of essential systems and applications, preempting technical issues. • Handle on-premises and cloud environments, automating tasks to boost system efficiency. • Collaborate with diverse teams to foster seamless IT operations and mentor junior administrators. • Implement best practices for system infrastructure management, including backup and recovery protocols. • Enhance system performance by tuning configurations, managing storage allocations, and applying critical updates. • Influence and develop strategic solutions that drive project goals and business outcomes. • Lead and guide technical staff on projects that have a significant impact on results. • Administer, maintain, and optimize Windows, Linux, and cloud-based systems for high availability. • Implement system configuration management to minimize security risks. • Monitor system health and performance proactively to prevent outages. • Document configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guidelines for systems. • Manage virtualization platforms like VMware and Hyper-V for efficient resource use. • Develop robust backup strategies and disaster recovery plans to ensure data integrity. • Utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Ansible for system provisioning. • Apply security best practices to safeguard systems and ensure compliance with industry standards. • Manage IAM solutions and enforce role-based access controls (RBAC) and multi-factor authentication (MFA). • Conduct system audits, vulnerability scans, and risk assessments to address security risks. • Ensure compliance with organizational security policies and industry regulations. • Investigate and resolve complex technical issues across various systems and networks. • Perform root cause analysis and implement solutions to prevent future incidents. • Create and maintain incident response plans to ensure swift recovery. • Manage cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and GCP, while optimizing for performance and cost. • Establish secure virtual networks and VPNs alongside robust cloud access controls. • Mentor junior staff and provide valuable guidance in technical matters. • Participate in planning for projects, system upgrades, and migrations with minimal disruption. • Automate administrative tasks using PowerShell, Bash, or Python to enhance efficiency. • Continuously seek ways to improve operations through automation and process enhancements. What We Need From You: • Active Top Secret/SCI (TS/SCI) security clearance required. Must be a U.S. Citizen. • Bachelor's degree with 12 to 15 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s with 10 to 13 years. Equivalent experience may substitute for formal education. • Familiarity with DoD IT security protocols and requirements. • Expertise in Windows and Linux operating systems administration and security. • Extensive knowledge of virtualization technologies such as VMware and Hyper-V. • Proficiency in managing cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). • Solid understanding of networking protocols, including Firewall management and VPNs. • Hands-on experience with backup solutions and disaster recovery strategies. • Strong knowledge of identity and access management systems. • Ability to script in PowerShell, Bash, or Python for task automation. • Experience with IaC and configuration management tools like Terraform or Ansible. Preferred Qualifications: • Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, or CompTIA Security+. • Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes). • Familiarity with SIEM and other security monitoring solutions. Location: The position may involve work at a designated site to support the mission. Pay Range: $112,450.00 - $203,275.00 This pay range is a general guideline and not a guarantee of compensation.
