Description The Information Security Engineer is a senior-level position within our remote and onsite support teams, providing advanced expertise in securing, monitoring, and maintaining cloud and hybrid IT infrastructures. This role is critical in ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems and data across our clients’ environments. The Information Security Engineer will take a proactive role in implementing security best practices, responding to incidents, and supporting compliance efforts. Requirements and Responsibilities • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the IT industry with a focus on cybersecurity and cloud security, particularly in Azure and Microsoft 365 environments. • Relevant industry certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CompTIA CySA+, AZ-500, CCNA, OSCP, CEH, or equivalent. • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 security and compliance features. • Hands-on experience with firewalls, endpoint protection, SIEM tools, vulnerability scanning, backup and business continuity, and log management. • Experience conducting security assessments, managing incident response, and implementing remediation plans. • Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as NIST, HIPAA, CMMC, or ISO 27001 is a strong plus. • Strong knowledge of virtualization security, especially in VMware environments. • A passion for cybersecurity and continuous learning, with a positive, team-oriented attitude. • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with a security-focused mindset. • Proven professional with outstanding interpersonal, written, verbal, and presentation skills. • Strong organizational and documentation habits, especially around security incidents and risk analysis. • Experience working with ticketing systems and change management processes. • Must meet utilization targets and project deadlines consistently. • Ability to lift up to fifty (50) lbs if required for onsite deployments. • Own reliable transportation for occasional onsite visits. • Long-term career minded – the average tenure with LeeShanok is over 7 years.
