SUMMARY At Magnolia, the Network Administrator is responsible for maintaining a secure, reliable, and high-performing network across all locations. This includes designing and supporting wired and wireless infrastructure, managing network hardware, assisting with network-related security, and responding to security alerts. The administrator also configures firewalls and access controls, supports site builds and infrastructure upgrades, monitors network traffic and health, documents configurations, and collaborates with vendors as needed. This role also supports Magnolia’s cloud-based network infrastructure, including Azure virtual networking and hybrid connectivity between cloud and on-prem environments. The position is based at Magnolia Headquarters in Waco, Texas, reports to the IT Operations Manager, and has no supervisory responsibilities. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Perform network planning, detailed design, and hands-on implementation of IP network projects, ensuring robust, scalable, and secure network infrastructure tailored to meet organizational goals and project specifications* Administer and configure network infrastructure, including switches, routers, wireless access points, and servers* Monitor network performance, perform regular audits* Document and maintain IP address allocations, VLAN mappings, and network diagrams* Conduct network security assessments and assist with firewall configurations, access controls, and policy enforcement* Respond to network-related security alerts and incidents in collaboration with the SOC and internal stakeholders* Provide second-level technical support for user issues related to network connectivity and configuration issues* Perform audits and reviews of security controls* Design and manage cloud networking components, including Azure virtual networks (VNETs), network security groups (NSGs), virtual appliances, and peering configurations* Configure and support hybrid connectivity solutions such as VPN gateways, Azure Bastion, and cloud-based firewalls to ensure secure, high-performance access across environments* Stay updated on security trends and ensure compliance Perform other duties as assigned *Metrics evaluated on Performance Review COMPETENCIES Teamwork: Contribute to a team environment supporting diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree from a 4-year college or university preferred. 3-5 years of experience with a related degree, 4-7 years of experience with a non-related degree, or 5+ years of industry experience preferred. Experience with LAN/WLAN/WAN/SD WAN architectures, networking and routing protocols, VoIP, firewall and proxy administration, and DNS and DHCP server administration required Knowledge of security standards (ISO 27001, PCI, NIST, GDPR) preferred. Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate (AZ-700), or other applicable certifications preferred Experience with Microsoft Azure, including VNETs, peering, Defender, VPN gateways, and cloud-based firewall platforms strongly preferred; experience with Cisco Meraki also preferred Must be available to be on call as business needs require PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands and arms to reach, handle, feel; utilize fine motor dexterity of fingers; talk or hear and taste or smell.
