This job exists to ensure the effective management, security, and maintenance of the organization's network infrastructure, systems, and data. It is responsible for designing, configuring, and optimizing network systems, protecting data integrity, managing backups, securing all connected devices, and supporting IT operations. Additionally, it provides technical support, maintains the Active Directory and virtual environments, updates the website, and assists with special IT projects. How does it get done? Duties for this position include: - Administering, configuring, and monitoring network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls - Managing the Active Directory, virtual environments, and Microsoft Server systems for application and storage - Ensuring data backups, integrity, and security of all network systems and devices - Responding to helpdesk tickets to resolve hardware and software issues - Identifying and reporting security risks, vulnerabilities, and breaches to the CIO - Maintaining and supporting agency hardware, software, and inventory processes - Developing and maintaining system documentation, procedures, and IT plans - Providing technical support at the Albuquerque Records Center as needed - Delivering high-quality support and service to agency users Who are the customers? Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate for this position should have: - Relevant experience in network administration, systems management, and IT support - Proficiency in network infrastructure management, including routers, switches, and firewalls - Experience with data backup, recovery, and security protocols - Knowledge of best practices in data protection and network security - Ability to communicate technical information effectively to non-technical users Minimum Qualification Associate degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), Information Technology, Engineering, or similar technical degree and two (2) years of experience in end user support, systems administration, or network administration. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling four (4) years may substitute for the required education and experience.
