We’ll also help you find coverage for everything life brings—from auto to flood—reimagining how you care for your home.  About This Role Hippo is seeking a talented Financial Analyst to partner with our Financial Operations and Accounting teams, directly supporting the profitable growth of our Home Insurance Program. Your core responsibilities will include managing month-end sales commission expense accounting and related SOX controls. Beyond this, you'll be a lead analyst, leveraging data from various sources to develop and drive actionable strategies. This role offers significant cross-functional exposure, collaborating with Distribution, Billing/Customer Support, and Claims. We're looking for someone with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and SQL with a strong ability to synthesize complex data into impactful insights.. Experience with Power Query or Tableau is desired.  About You You thrive in a high-growth, fast-paced environment while expertly managing multiple strict deadlines. You are detail-oriented and a data-driven individual.  What You'll Do Partner effectively with our operational business teams  Manage monthly sales commission expense accruals and deferred acquisition expenses  Conduct testing of sales commission calculations and SOX audit controls  Deliver ad hoc financial analysis, reporting, and support as needed  Develop the monthly financial operations scorecard, present key insights, and explain variances (i.e., premium billing, A/R aging, and outstanding claims payments)  Identify areas for operational process improvement and/or automation    Must Haves:  3-5 years of practical experience as a financial/accounting analyst  Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a closely related discipline  Demonstrated intermediate to advanced capabilities in SQL and Excel.  Experience with data visualization platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and advanced Excel functionalities (including XLOOKUP, MATCH, INDEX, SUMIFS, VLOOKUP, etc.)  Strong communication skills  Nice to Haves: Experience and proficiency with Power Query, Power Pivot, and working with databases Insurance industry experience Benefits and Perks Hippo treats its team members with the same level of dedication and care as we do our customers, which is why we’re fortunate to provide all of our Hippos with: Healthy Hippos Benefits - Multiple medical plans to choose from and 100% employer covered dental & vision plans for our team members and their families.
