IT ADMINISTRATOR JOB SUMMARY: To install and provide support and routine preventative maintenance to Signal Center’s computer systems. QUALIFICATIONS: Education & Experience: • Bachelor’s degree in an Information Technology-related field, or a minimum of three (3) years of relevant professional experience. • A high school diploma or GED may be considered with additional post-secondary training, certifications, and extended relevant experience. Technical Proficiency: • * Proficient in supporting both Windows and macOS environments, as well as Microsoft Office applications. • Experience with Microsoft 365, Jira Service Management, and Power Automate is highly desirable. Core Competencies: • * Hands-on experience in cloud administration, systems administration, and technical support. • Familiarity with basic coding and scripting for automation and troubleshooting tasks. Certifications: • * CompTIA Network+ and Security+ certifications, or equivalent vendor certifications, are preferred. SPECIAL SKILLS/APTITUDES: • The ability to provide Tier 2 support for Windows and macOS operating systems. • The ability to install/maintain and troubleshoot network devices. • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and Microsoft 365 applications • The ability to anticipate potential concerns and address these with the supervisor. • The ability to organize and manage an extensive workload. • Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to evolving IT environments JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: Generalized Work Activities: • Interaction With Computers – Using computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to program, set up functions, or process information. • Provide Consultation and Advice to Others – Providing guidance and expert advice to management or other groups on technical, systems, or process-related topics. • Communicating with Supervisors, Peers, or Staff – Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and staff by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person and doing so courteously and respectfully. Travel may be required. • Documenting/Recording Information – Maintaining backup systems to protect files in a catastrophic situation (i.e., fire, theft, etc.). • Making Decisions and Solving Problems – Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems. Detailed Work Activities: • Maintenance: o Maintain PCs, printers, and other related equipment. o Essential routine maintenance of hardware will be performed. • Confer with users to discuss issues such as computer data access needs, security violations, and programming changes. • Assist in safeguarding computer files against accidental or unauthorized modification, destruction, or disclosure and meet emergency data processing needs. • Document computer security and emergency measures, procedures, and tests. • Monitor current reports of computer viruses to determine when to update virus protection systems. • Monitor network traffic, regulate system access, and safeguard information in accordance with our DLP policy. • Install and maintain network equipment. • Review violations of computer security procedures and discuss procedures with the supervisor to ensure violations are not repeated. • Train users and promote security awareness to ensure system security and improve server and network efficiency. • Assist with system administration and upkeep. • Provide Tier 2 technical support to computer users • Read and understand technical documentation • Learn the Video conferencing and A/V procedures for the Germantown Board Room, and act as a backup for that operation. • Maintain a professional posture/attitude and appearance in all job-related activities. • Maintain effective working relationships with others by responding promptly and constructively to requests from other staff, resolving conflicts immediately, and cooperating fully with others to meet departmental objectives. • Display appropriate work habits including, but not limited to, keeping appointments, good attendance, punctuality, appropriate dress, returning messages, etc. About Signal Centers: Signal Centers, Inc. is a nonprofit 501c-3 that has been an integral part of the Chattanooga community since 1957.
