Job Title: Microsoft 365 UC & Messaging Architect (Collaboration Manager) Location: Morristown, NJ (3-days hybrid) Employment Type: Full-Time/Contract Experience: 10+ Years About the Role – We are seeking a seasoned Microsoft Unified Communications & Messaging Architect to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of Microsoft Teams and Exchange solutions across our global enterprise. This is a strategic role where you will act as the technical authority for modern workplace collaboration, focusing exclusively on Microsoft technologies such as Teams, Exchange Online, and Microsoft 365. Key Responsibilities • Design and Architect Microsoft Teams and Exchange Online environments for enterprise-scale deployments. • Lead Teams Voice/Enterprise Voice strategy, including Direct Routing, Calling Plans, and integration with MTR (Microsoft Teams Rooms). • Drive Exchange Hybrid deployments, mail flow configuration, retention/compliance policies, and global email infrastructure strategy. • Provide technical leadership for migrations (e.g., Skype for Business to Teams, Exchange On-Prem to Exchange Online). • Implement and manage Microsoft Security & Compliance solutions (e.g., EOP, DLP, Litigation Hold, Microsoft Purview). • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Security, Networking, and Infrastructure. • Define and enforce governance, policy configuration, and best practices for Teams and Exchange. • Monitor and optimize UC/Messaging systems using native tools (e.g., Teams Admin Center, M365 Compliance Center). • Act as L3/L4 escalation point for Teams and Exchange-related incidents or outages. Required Skills & Experience • 10+ years in IT with deep experience in Unified Communications and Messaging. • Proven hands-on architecture and deployment experience with: • Microsoft Teams (Enterprise Voice, Direct Routing) • Exchange Online and Exchange Hybrid • Microsoft 365 collaboration ecosystem • Experience in designing and supporting Teams Meeting Rooms (MTR) and Teams Room Devices. • Strong grasp of PowerShell scripting for Teams and Exchange automation. • Expertise in Microsoft 365 Security & Compliance Center, including email protection and retention policies. • Deep understanding of Active Directory, Azure AD, and identity federation (SSO, MFA). • Ability to develop high-level architecture documents, runbooks, and SOPs. • Exceptional problem-solving and communication skills.
