Senior Power BI Analyst Position Summary The Senior Power BI Analyst will sit within the Client Services team, working directly with our clients to gather reporting requirements, develop dashboards, and deliver actionable insights using Power BI and our Data Visualization product – DataView. This client-facing role requires a strong communicator who can translate complex data into clear, impactful visualizations while ensuring alignment with client business needs. Responsibilities • Act as the primary Power BI expert for client-facing projects, gathering and refining dashboard and report requirements. • Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports that meet client needs and business objectives. • Extract, transform, and analyze data from SQL databases and other sources to support reporting and visualization. • Collaborate with client stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions. • Troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance existing Power BI reports and datasets to improve performance and usability. • Provide training and guidance to clients on Power BI dashboards and self-service analytics. • Ensure high standards of data integrity, usability, and visual design in all deliverables. • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the Client Services team to enhance our reporting offerings. Requirements • Several years of Power BI experience (requirement gathering, dashboard/report development, data analysis, and visualization). • Strong proficiency in Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service. • Comfortable in client-facing roles, including gathering requirements and presenting solutions. • Familiarity with SQL and data extraction/manipulation. • Strong understanding of data modeling, DAX, and best practices for Power BI development. • Experience working for, or with, an oil and gas SaaS business, or as an internal report developer for an oil and gas operator. • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders. • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Preferred • Experience with ETL tools and data pipeline management. • Familiarity with Azure or other cloud data environments. • Understanding of upstream and midstream operations within the energy sector. • Knowledge of Power Automate, Power Apps, or related tools to extend Power BI functionality.
