Description: EFCU Financial Federal Credit Union Position Description TITLE: Network Administrator DEPARTMENT: Information Technology REPORTS TO: Vice President of Core Systems SUPERVISES: N/A FLSA STATUS: Exempt Purpose: Design, install, and maintain network infrastructure to include routers, switches, servers, network hardware and software. This role requires a balance of technical expertise and interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on building strong internal relationships and fostering teamwork across departments. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative problem-solver, committed to ensuring secure, high-performance network operations while also playing a key role in team development and cross-functional communication. Recommend changes, upgrades or new products as a result of on-going administration of the network. Research and resolve network problems for end users and vendors. Duties and Responsibilities: • Support, maintain, and improve the credit union’s local area and wide area network hardware and software to ensure that backend functions, systems, PCs, servers, and all peripheral products are operational and secure. • Recommend and implement changes to improve network security, reliability and performance where needed. • Design and execute backup procedures that maintain the integrity and security of the credit union’s technology infrastructure. Work with the Security Administrator to review and confirm these procedures. • Responsible for network communications reliability and performance. • Responsible for overall technical infrastructure design and planning as well as component implementation, configuration, and maintenance. • Design and maintain systems documentation according to applicable policy and procedures. • Research and diagnose IT problems within the entire infrastructure; troubleshoot and provide solutions. Test solutions to ensure a correct solution. • Respond to user problems on PCs to include software applications, systems integration, or individual hardware problems. Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve the problem. • Provide individual support to end users via the phone, in person, or on-line to answer questions or resolve problems. • Establish relationships with vendors to ensure all networking environments are always up to par. • Communicate with management regarding necessary updates, upgrades, and inform of potential network downtime. Understand what systems downtime will affect and plan accordingly. • Collaborate with IT team members to develop best practices, support projects, coordinate networking changes, and serve as level 2 Help Desk support. • Build team relationships with all internal Credit Union departments to provide effective technology solutions and assist in achieving organizational goals. • Lead or participate in Credit Union projects, ensuring smooth communication and teamwork across all departments. • Install, configure, and test new virtual and physical servers for systems Perform maintenance and monitor VM environment including VMWare and VCenter. • Install and maintain virtual environment to include hardware, software, and storage network. Configure and install ESXI upgrades. • Responsible for the deployments, reconfigurations, cabling, and maintenance of all network routers, switches, and other communications gear. • Install and test new software both for the network and for individual users. • Assist in the use of voice, data, and communication systems including the phone system. • Keep abreast of state-of-the-art hardware and software developments. Recommend new technologies that enhance the efficiency and security of the network infrastructure. • Monitor network traffic (internal and external) for security, bandwidth, or communications issues. Recommend changes and/or upgrades where necessary in order to keep the network operating as securely and efficiently as possible. • Track and document annual renewals of software and licensed systems. • Manage Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, and Group Policy Settings. • Monitor and support the Credit Union Wi-Fi network. • Provide documentation to Nation Credit Union Administration (NCUA) and third-party auditors. Answer questions related to organization infrastructure, system security, Information Technology (IT) processes and procedures. • Conduct annual Disaster Recovery testing and other recovery practices. • Responsible for documenting daily responsibilities and tasks. • Cross train on departmental duties to provide backup in their absence. • Cross-sell Credit Union services when appropriate. • Assist in other assigned duties. Pay Grade 11 Minimum annual salary: $58,742.68 Requirements: Critical Knowledge, Skills, and Educational Requirements: • A minimum of an Associate Degree in Information Technology or completion of a specialized course of study as a business or trade school. Bachelor’s Degree is preferred. • A minimum of 2 years experience or related experience in computer software packages, computer operations, and network administration. • Experience in Microsoft systems administration required, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer preferred. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and build effective working relationships with team members • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities • Experience in administration of Cisco hardware, Microsoft Exchange, VMWare VCenter/VSphere, Pure Storage, Active Directory, Windows Server, and Phone Systems. • Experience with cabling standards for data and telephone equipment. • Must be dependable and reliable. • Must have reliable transportation. • Must pass all credit and bond requirements.
