Position Purpose: In this Solutions Engineer role, you will bridge the gap between complex technical products and customer needs. The role involves pre-sales support, technical consultation (design, architecture, and programming), product demonstration, and often post-sales implementation. The main goal is to support sales by ensuring not only that the solution is technically feasible but the right fit for the customers problem. Duties/Responsibilities: • Solution Design & Planning o Analyze customer requirements and business needs to design tailored technical solutions. o Translate functional specifications into technical implementation plans. o Collaborate with Solutions Architects, Sales Engineers, and Product Managers to validate solution design. Technical Implementation & Integration o Configure, install, and deploy solutions according to project specifications. o Develop or customize integrations using APIs, SDKs, or third-party tools. o Ensure security, scalability, and compliance during deployment. • Project Coordination & Delivery o Manage project timelines, deliverables, and resources across multiple stakeholders. o Serve as the primary technical point of contact during the implementation phase. o Conduct project kick-off meetings, status updates, and post-implementation reviews. • Customer Engagement & Support o Work directly with customers to gather requirements, explain solutions, and resolve issues. o Provide technical guidance and answer questions throughout the project lifecycle. o Train end users or customer technical teams on implemented solutions. • Testing & Validation o Create and execute test plans to ensure solution functionality and performance. o Perform system validation and acceptance testing with customers. • Documentation o Produce and maintain accurate implementation documentation, diagrams, and user guides o Document lessons learned and feedback for continuous improvement. • Cross-Functional Collaboration o Coordinate with product development, QA, support, and sales teams. o Escalate critical technical issues to engineering with clear documentation and context. • Post-Implementation Support o Provide stabilization support during the post-deployment phase. o Monitor solution performance and ensure it meets SLAs and customer expectations. • Role-Dependent Responsibilities o Writing custom scripts or automation tools. o Leading customer workshops or training sessions. o Participating in RFP/RFI responses. o Contributing to product roadmap discussions based on implementation feedback. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as: Computer Science, IT, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering or equivalent work experience • Preferred: Master’s degree or MBA (for senior or customer-facing enterprise roles) • Technical Skills & Experience o 3–7 years of experience in a technical role such as: Solutions Engineer, Project Engineer, Systems Integrator, Implementation Consultant, or similar Proficiency in • Solution design and deployment • APIs and system integrations • Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, VPNs) • Scripting or light coding (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell) • Database knowledge (SQL, NoSQL) • Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) — certifications are a plus • Knowledge of industrial systems (ex: SCADA in manufacturing) Soft Skills & Core Competencies o Strong problem-solving and analytical skills o Excellent verbal and written communication o Capable of translating complex technical information to business stakeholders o Strong project coordination or light project management skills o Customer-oriented mindset with the ability to build trust and credibility o Comfortable working independently and in cross-functional teams Certifications (Optional) o Cloud: AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Engineer, or similar o Project Management: PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile/Scrum certifications o Security: CompTIA Security+, CISSP (for industries with compliance needs)
