Job Description Senior DevOps Engineer with Linux/Unix Administration Mastery The Senior DevOps Engineer with Linux/Unix Administration Mastery will be responsible for the standup, administration, monitoring and maintenance of both VM and hardware installed operating systems, comprising the various links for OPEX Warehouse Automation Division's CI/CD toolchain including but not limited to VMware, CheckMK, Atlassian Jira & Confluence, Docker, Plastic SCM, Jenkins, Artifactory, Octopus and Dependency Track. OPEX Corporation is currently looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer with Linux/Unix Administration Mastery to administer the CI/CD toolchain/pipeline servers for our innovative Robotic Warehouse Automation products. This position will be responsible for the setup, administration (root/sysop) monitoring and maintenance of both VM and hardware installed operating systems (mostly Linux but also some Windows) comprising the various links in the CI/CD toolchain including but not limited to VMware, CheckMK, Atlassian Jira & Confluence, Docker, Plastic SCM, Jenkins, Artifactory, Octopus and Dependency Track. Responsibilities This role requires a seasoned DevOps engineer with in-depth LINUX/UNIX administration and architecture experience. Administration is in-depth sysop/root responsibility which goes far beyond container deployment of systems. This person will be expected to: • Architect, Purchase, Install Configure and Administer (root / sysop) Linux and Windows based DevOps servers. • Interface between DevOps and software development teams. • Interface between DevOps and OPEX IT. • Design and develop scripts to reliably and repeatedly perform server administration tasks such as user management and OS upgrades. • Design, develop and troubleshoot CI/CD Pipeline scripts. • Hold themselves and the entire team accountable to the highest standards. Systems are maintained without outage except for unavoidable cases such as OS and tool updates. • Ensure that DevOps is using contemporary and secure tools and processes. • Work closely with engineering management on solution design, and when necessary, technology selection for new initiatives. Skills: • Experience as a DevOps Engineer. • Administration Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins. • Solid experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting UNIX/Linux based environments. • Experience with Windows Server administration. • Experience with network administration. • Experience with software version control administration, Plastic SCM ideal. • Experience with Atlassian Jira & Confluence administration. • Experience with JFrog Artifactory or Nexus administration. • Experience with Octopus administration. • Experience with VMWare / Proxmox administration. • Experience with CheckMK administration. • Experience with Network Attached Storage design & administration. • Scripting experience (PowerShell, bat, python, shell). • Software code scanning tool (SonarQube, Dependency Track) experience. • Strong scripting skills in Bash and Windows PowerShell. • Proficiency in programming languages such Java/Groovy. • Familiarity with C/C++ language, compiler and build tools. • Familiarity with Azure. • Familiarity with Docker. Qualifications: • 5 years' minimum experience required. • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience and competency. • A solid foundation in computer science, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design large systems software design and development experience. • Experience performing in-depth troubleshooting and unit testing with both new and legacy production systems. • Experience in programming and problem diagnosis and resolution. • Demonstrated ability to "fail fast", learn and rapidly iterate towards a solution. • Exceptional listening, verbal, presentation, interpersonal, and written communication skills. • Mentoring experience. • Capable of providing onsite support for emergency situations outside of normal business hours.
