Are you a hands-on leader who loves getting deep into the weeds as much as building a strong team of competent engineers? Then this role be for you. We are looking for a leader to own the DevOps charter for Planet DDS. This is a highly visible and influential role with opportunity to work with the engineering leadership across the company. You will lead a distributed team in US and UK that currently supports our applications built on top of Azure, AWS and GCP. You will manage vendor relationships for these cloud vendors. You will drive efficiency across the engineering organization by optimizing cloud spend and influencing the architecture along the way. ResponsibilitiesLead the DevOps teamDrive FinOps charter across the companyBuild and execute on a roadmap of initiatives to optimize cloud spendBuild and execute on a roadmap to build a highly scalable and resilient cloud infrastructureBuild and execute roadmap of features to support the engineering organization for upcoming feature launchesEstablish and maintain best practices for cloud security, compliance, and cost optimization.Design, develop and maintain infrastructure using infrastructure as code toolsParticipate in code and design reviews to ensure the quality and maintainability of code.Skills & QualificationsMinimum 7 years of hands-on experience with Azure (required), AWS and GCP (preferred)Minimum 3 years of experience of leading a distributed team of infrastructure engineersDeep experience with FinOps and cost optimizationUnderstanding of distributed system architectureStrong executor with ability to get things doneStrong written and verbal communication skillsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.SummaryLocation: Irvine, CA, United StatesType: Full TimeExperience: Manager/Supervisor
