Systems Administrator II (Regular, Full-Time) Information Services Reporting to the Director of Information Services, the Systems Administrator II is responsible for the effective implementation, management, and maintenance of Museum Information Services infrastructure. In this capacity, working closely with the Director of Information Services, the Systems Administrator II is responsible for providing a broad range of systems management support for Museum Information Services, assisting in the implementation of projects and the maintenance of those systems post implementation, both on campus and at the remote sites in the greater metropolitan Los Angeles area. Responsibilities: • Deploying and managing the Active Directory infrastructure • Maintaining and supporting Active Directory domain controllers, DNS, DHCP, Group Policies and other related services • Implementing and enforcing security policies and access controls within the Active Directory • Managing directory integration with SSO and third-party systems • Documenting and knowledge transfer for task execution by other departments • Installing, configuring and maintaining Windows Server operating systems, including server roles and features • Performing regular system updates, patches and security configurations • Troubleshooting hardware, software and network issues related to Windows Servers and Windows, Mac OS, Linux and other endpoints • Implementing and managing data retention, compliance and eDiscovery policies • Collaborating with end-users to provide training and support for Microsoft applications • Providing technical support and guidance to end-users and other IT staff • Performing routine and scheduled maintenance of IT infrastructure to ensure optimal stability, security and performance while minimizing disruptions to operations • Installing, configuring and maintaining Windows Servers and systems • Serving as an escalation point and supporter for Level 1 Technicians on complex issues • Responding to incident escalations, following troubleshooting and recovery procedures, and escalating to other teams when necessary • Seeking out opportunities to document, improve or automate support and maintenance processes to provide effective and efficient support • Taking on and supporting time-sensitive projects when needed • While on call, providing off-hours, evening and weekend support to accommodate maintenance windows and break-fix actions • Manage and Maintain Google Workspace environment (email, shared documents and drives, etc.) • Working with other departments to implement their technical projects within the bounds of LACMA I.S. policy and infrastructure Benefits: • The expected hourly rate for this Los Angeles, CA based position is $36.50 - $37.92, subject to change, and the position is eligible for LACMA’s comprehensive benefits package, including pension plan. • LACMA is committed to providing its employees with valuable and competitive benefits as a core part of a strong overall employee experience. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Computer Information Systems, similar degree, or comparable experience • Minimum 5 years of system administration experience, with a minimum 3 years managing Active Directory • Managing Google Workspace and / or Microsoft 365 a plus • Demonstrated success with scripting and automation to reduce toil in AD management preferred • Experience with deploying and managing and troubleshooting Active Directory infrastructure • Experience managing synchronization between Active Directory and 3rd party applications/integrations • Managing Hyper-V and VMware Virtualization environments • Understanding basic storage management with SAN and NAS • Understanding of network concepts and flows; ability to utilize traceroute, ping and troubleshoot network issues • Experience working with ticketing, monitoring and alerting tools in managing Information Services operations • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Ability to multitask and make sound judgements • Mac OS experience in an Active Directory environment
