Title: Java Automation & DevOps Consultant Location: Richmond, VA(Hybrid – 2–3 Days Onsite Weekly) Experience: 10+ Duration: LongTerm If you are interested in this position, please share your updated resume - praneetha@excelque.org Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Java Automation and DevOps Consultant to join our client's team for a long-term engagement in Richmond, Virginia. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Java/JEE application modernization, DevOps automation, and scripting. This position requires the consultant to work onsite 2–3 days per week. Key Responsibilities: · Migrate existing Java/JEE applications to Maven-based projects · Transition legacy codebases to GitHub with proper branching, versioning, and CI/CD integration · Design and implement automation scripts using Shell and Python · Collaborate with development and operations teams to enhance build, deployment, and monitoring processes · Assist in the setup and configuration of CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.) · Troubleshoot build, deployment, and environment issues · Ensure all automation and DevOps practices follow industry best standards Required Skills: · 10+ years of experience in Java/JEE development and automation · Strong hands-on experience with Maven, project build automation, and dependency management · Experience migrating Java projects from traditional setups (e.g., Ant/Eclipse) to Maven and GitHub · Expertise in Shell scripting and Python scripting for automation tasks · Proficient with version control tools – especially Git/GitHub · Strong understanding of DevOps concepts, including CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and automation · Excellent communication and troubleshooting skills · Ability to work independently and onsite 2–3 days per week in Richmond, VA Preferred Qualifications: · Experience with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar CI/CD tools · Exposure to cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP · Familiarity with containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) is a plus Job Type: Contract Pay: $60.00 - $70.00 per hour Ability to Commute: • Richmond, VA 23173 (Required) Ability to Relocate: • Richmond, VA 23173: Relocate before starting work (Required) Work Location: In person
