Job Title Business Intelligence Engineer Location Clerk of Courts - Orlando, FL US (Primary) Category Technical Salary Grade $43.92 - $58.65 Job Type Full-time Job Description Job Overview: Responsible for the full life cycle development, implementation, production support, and performance tuning of the Microsoft Business Intelligence environments, and support the integration of those systems with other applications. Design and implement reporting and analytical solutions, including both the design of table structures and the processes used to populate those structures with data from internal and external sources, or for direct access. Help business teams drive improvement in key business metrics, customer experience and business results. Interact with various development teams, project managers, internal and external customers, senior management, and external vendors. Work closely with internal customers and Analysts to turn data into critical information and knowledge that can be used to make sound business decisions. Provide data that is accurate, congruent and reliable and is easily accessible. Educate and train users to consume the data as an analytical tool, displaying the information in new form and content for analysis and exploring options. This job reports to the Infrastructure Manager and is a member of the Business Intelligence virtual work team to design and deliver solutions. The work team reports jointly to the CIO and the Director of Quality Analytics. Essential Functions: Employees performing in this job function may perform some or all the duties. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment to the position. • Implement business intelligence and advanced analytics solutions in support of the initiatives of the Business Analytics virtual work team; • Manage solution design, hands-on development, release management and implementation of business intelligence and data solutions on a MS Power BI platform; • Create data integration and technical solutions around Microsoft SQL Server, Data Lake and Data Warehouse, Machine Learning, and other methods to access and utilize data from external and internal sources; • Define and implement overall ETL and ETL architecture using SQL, SSIS, Data Factory and MS pre-built ETL capabilities, including key designs on integration standards such as loading, streaming/near real time/batch, data validation, error logging, auditing, etc.; • Recommend and implement enhancements and modifications to optimize data model, data architecture, business intelligence and data governance processes; • Coordinate with the business stakeholders to identify new data requirements, analysis strategies and reporting solutions; • Develop solutions based on specific project requirements, considering best practices and performance standards while promoting reusability; • Write sophisticated SQL queries to extract data and build complex models; • Write sophisticated DAX expressions; support and mentor BI Analysts in use of DAX for complex measures, functions and data modeling; • Work with management to align solutions and data integration with business strategy and objectives; • Assist in data management, modelling and integration activities; • Perform other functions, duties and conduct special projects and/or research as assigned. Job Requirements Minimum Qualifications Required: • Bachelor's Degree in Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or directly related area; • Minimum of five (5) years of overall IT experience to include three (3) years of experience in a direct role as a Data Engineer; • Demonstrate experience with ETL on the Microsoft Power BI "stack" and SQL server enterprise data warehouse; • Solid hands-on experience with SQL Server, MS Power BI ETL tools, TSQL, and SSIS; • Understanding of DAX and M-query. Preferred Qualifications: • Master's Degree in Science, Computer Science, or directly related area. Technical Requirements: • Technical expertise in distributed system architecture, design, and development; • Technical expertise in the development of Tabular models; • Technical understanding of SQL Analysis Services (SSAS) to develop , tabular or other appropriate data models, and integration of data from multiple sources; • Broad exposure in the new techniques in agile Data Warehousing and Data Integration technologies; • Strong conceptual, analytical, and curiosity skills: SQL, Problem Solving, Performance Tuning, Test Case Analysis; • Thorough understanding of how data is turned into information and knowledge to support and enable key business processes; • Proficiency working with a personal computer in Windows environment and utilizing word processing (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook). • Ability to: o Maintain current knowledge of data integration methodologies; o Demonstrate strong decision-making and Technical Design skills; o Have an in-depth understanding of the business environment; o Possess strong analytical skills; o Comfortable with uncertainty and iterative development environment work from prototyping and end-user designs to test concepts and ideas; o Communicate effectively with all levels of management in a clear and professional manner, verbally and written; o Possess superior people management, collaboration and leadership skills; o Multitask comfortably; o Work well within a team environment and across multiple teams; o Use standard office equipment (computer, fax, telephone, copier, etc.); o Travel to all work locations including outlying branches. The Orange County Clerk of Courts Safety and Security Sensitive Positions requires the employee to perform one or more of the following: • Work with confidential customer and/or employee information. • Access our Case Management System "Odyssey" that contains PII (personally identifiable information). • Access our "Munis System" that contains our banking accounts information, financial information, and PII (personally identifiable information). • Access to Court Evidence that includes but is not limited to (controlled substances, criminal investigation documents, weapons, and other like items). • Access to the juvenile facility. • Handle cash and other forms of payment such as credit cards. • Set up differed payments for customers. • Be sworn to "Oath by the Clerk". • Operate heavy equipment such as a forklift and scissor lift. • Operate company vehicle.
