Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To • The Senior Cybersecurity Analyst monitors and secures information systems, identifies potential risks or breaches, and develops strategies to prevent security incidents • They identify information system and network vulnerabilities by conducting regular audits • They install and use software, such as firewalls and data encryption programs, to protect sensitive information • They develop and implement effective security policies and protocols • They respond to security incidents and provide detailed Incident Reports • They conduct penetration testing to simulate attacks, identify weak points, and work with the IT Team to establish Disaster Recovery Plans • They stay up-to-date on the latest intelligence, including hacker methodologies, to anticipate security breaches • They educate the workforce on information security through training and awareness programs • They also recommend security enhancements to management or senior IT staff • The Senior Cybersecurity Analyst provides direction and mentorship to subordinate staff Minimum Qualifications • BA/BS in field necessary to assume Cybersecurity Analyst duties and a minimum of 9 years years of relevant Cybersecurity Analyst experience. • High School and 4 years of additional experience or Associate's Degree and 2 years of additional experience may be exchanged in lieu of a required Bachelor's degree • A candidate holding a relevant Master’s degree may be granted 2 years’ experience credit for that extra education. A candidate holding a relevant PhD degree may be granted 4 years’ experience credit for that extra education. • 5+ years of position-specific relevant experience. Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field. • Strong understanding of firewall administration, incident detection, firewall architecture, and intrusion detection systems. • Knowledge of risk assessment tools, technologies, and methods. • Experience designing secure networks, systems, and application architectures. • Knowledge of disaster recovery, computer forensic tools, technologies, and methods. • Experience planning, researching, and developing security policies, standards, and procedures. DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level III certification, CompTIA Security+, 8570 CSSP certification. Desired Qualifications • Master’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field. Experience supporting DoD programs and cloud-based technologies. Professional certification (e.g., CISSP, CISA, CISM, CEH, etc.), ITIL Foundation certificate. GIAC (e.g., GCIH, GCIA, GMON), AWS Certified Security – Specialty, Google Cloud Professional Cloud Security Engineer, or Azure Security Engineer Associate. • Experience at a DoD Combatant Command (e.g., SOUTHCOM, NORTHCOM, CENTCOM, CYBERCOM, INDOPACOM, EUCOM, AFRICOM, STRATCOM, TRANSCOM, SOCOM, SPACECOM) or a component is desired. Clearance Requirements • Must be eligible for or have a current/active Secret Eligible clearance. Physical Requirements • The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. • Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.
