• 6+ month Contract • Contract Rate: $65-85/hr on W2 • 2-3 days onsite in downtown Dallas (Thursday in office) • Must attend onsite interview KEYS: • Need to have experience working on multiple databases on a single server • Experience with Oracle technologies • Currently on-prem but in the processes of purchasing some cloud based SaaS platforms; cloud experience is a huge plus • Able to push back on tickets – ask questions, provided different solutions Summary: The Database Administrator is responsible for supporting database operations including but not limited to performance monitoring, query optimization, code deployments, access management, and database analysis. The candidate will be responsible for operating in Oracle, Exadata, and SQL Server platforms and supporting database re-platforming efforts to include proper database sizing estimates. • Monitoring of database performance to include, but not limited to, memory usage, proper backups, active sessions, long-running queries, tablespace configuration, and space allocations. • Responsible for creating database objects, investigating performance issues, table partitioning strategies and setup and monitoring data retention. • Coordinate with data architects and analysts on creating schemas, tables (including partitioning), functions, views, stored procedures, database access and roles. • Write scripts to enable DBA specific processing and monitoring. • Runbook documentation to support DBA processes setup. • Implementing and managing centralized database operations at the Container Database (CDB) level. Qualifications: • 3+ years of physical DBA experience, including experience across Oracle, SQL Server, Exadata, PostgreSQL, Microsoft Access database servers. • Working knowledge of all aspects of Database Data Movement and Processing. • Working experience with Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio, DBeaver, TOAD, or Oracle SQL Developer. • Working knowledge of how to investigate and optimize SQL queries in SQL Server and Oracle/Exadata environments. • Familiarity with managing resource allocation for PDBs, ensuring fair access to system resources like CPU, memory, and I/O in a shared Database environment. • Experience with Hadoop/MongoDB a plus. • Experience with MDM methodology and tools a plus. • Cloud experience a plus. • Knowledge of Hybrid Columnar Compression (HCC) and Advanced Compression is a plus.
