Position Overview We are looking for a Senior Automation Engineer specializing in Azure to spearhead the development, enhancement, and modernization of our cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) strategies. This role is crucial and hands-on, focusing on scripting and implementing scalable automation solutions in Azure. Key Responsibilities: • Develop and maintain Azure infrastructure using Terraform, Azure CDK, and other IaC tools. • Automate the provisioning and deployment of Azure resources. • Lead the migration from Azure DevOps to GitHub Enterprise, including CI/CD pipeline automation with GitHub Actions. • Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate automation into development workflows. • Document automation processes to ensure knowledge transfer and team continuity. • Identify automation opportunities and take ownership of initiatives within Azure. • Support migration and modernization efforts across our Azure ecosystem. What You Bring to Zelis: Required Skills: • Significant experience with Terraform for Azure resource management. • Proficiency in Azure CDK and/or ARM Templates. • Hands-on experience with GitHub Enterprise and GitHub Actions. • In-depth knowledge of Azure services like Azure DevOps, Azure Functions, and Azure CLI. • Strong scripting experience in Python (required); knowledge of PowerShell is a strong plus. • Familiarity with observability tools such as Azure Monitor and Log Analytics. Nice-to-Have Skills: • Experience with Ansible for configuration management. • Exposure to Bash scripting. • Familiarity with Azure governance frameworks. • Contributions to infrastructure standards or reusable modules. Experience Requirements: • 7+ years of experience in automation engineering within Azure environments. • Record of successful automated cloud environment deployments. • Collaboration with software or platform teams on automated infrastructure solutions. • Experience in supporting cloud workload migrations. What This Role Is Not: • Not a general DevOps role; this is focused on hands-on Azure automation. • Not suited for junior or entry-level candidates. • Not limited to support; you will lead initiatives and collaborate across teams.
