Controller or Senior Accounting Systems – Salt Lake City, UT (In-Office) HRmango is hiring a Senior Accounting Systems Controller for a growing finance company based in Salt Lake City, UT. This is a full-time, in-office opportunity. Candidates must reside in the Salt Lake City area or be willing to relocate to be considered. We’re seeking a hands-on accounting professional with a strong foundation in financial reporting, system integrations, and GAAP/ASC 842 compliance. Ideal candidates will have a background in public accounting (Manager level preferred), private equity, or banking, and a proven track record of translating accounting needs into systems and process improvements. This is a "doer" role for someone who thrives in the details and enjoys partnering closely with technology teams. What You’ll Be Doing: • Act as the primary accounting liaison for IT and client-facing teams. • Ensure that system changes support accurate financial reporting, reconciliations, and compliance with GAAP and ASC 842. • Lead accounting reviews, reconciliations, and validations tied to ERP integrations and system workflows. • Collaborate with Technology and Product teams to translate accounting requirements into technical system specifications. • Provide accounting expertise during development sprints, UAT, and Agile ceremonies. • Support internal controls, audits, and compliance efforts by leveraging accounting systems and reporting tools. • Conduct complex reconciliations, financial validations, and data quality reviews. • Document and test system enhancements from an accounting perspective. • Represent the Accounting team during cross-functional planning, sprint demos, and system updates. • Mentor and train accounting team members on evolving system workflows. What Were Looking For: • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including general ledger, financial reporting, and reconciliations. • 2+ years of experience as a Controller or in a similar accounting leadership role. • Experience with ERP integrations or accounting system migrations. • Strong knowledge of GAAP and ASC 842 lease accounting. • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools. What Will Make You Stand Out: • CPA certification or actively pursuing CPA. • Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. • Background in leasing, equipment finance, or financial services. • Hands-on experience in Agile or iterative software development environments. • Experience working with Salesforce and its integration with accounting platforms.
