Your new trajectory starts here at Launch! The Role: We are seeking a Cloud Security Architect with deep expertise in designing secure, cloud-native solutions across AWS, Azure, and GCP. This senior-level role will lead the charge in building and evolving our multi-cloud security architecture strategy, with a strong emphasis on automation, governance, and scalable controls that align with enterprise and regulatory security requirements. As a key technical leader, you’ll serve as a trusted advisor for both internal stakeholders and external clients, guiding them through complex cloud security challenges and helping shape modern, resilient, and compliant architectures. Responsibilities Include: • Architect and oversee the implementation of security-first, cloud-agnostic infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and GCP • Design scalable and automated security controls using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform • Develop reference architectures, threat models, and cloud security patterns to drive secure adoption of cloud technologies • Partner with engineering, DevOps, and product teams to embed security into CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps workflows • Evaluate and recommend security technologies to mitigate risk in multi-cloud environments • Lead cloud security assessments, provide gap analysis, and implement remediation plans • Establish governance frameworks and enforce policies aligned with NIST, HITRUST, CIS, and other compliance standards • Respond to and lead the investigation of cloud security incidents, conducting root cause analysis and proposing corrective actions • Serve as a mentor and technical coach to cloud security engineers and solution architects • Engage with clients and executive stakeholders to communicate security strategies and risk posture Required Qualifications: • 8+ years of experience in cloud security or cloud architecture roles • Proven expertise across AWS, Azure, and GCP, with deep knowledge of each platform’s security features and limitations • Advanced proficiency in Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies • Hands-on experience building secure CI/CD pipelines and integrating security tooling • Deep understanding of governance: how it is implemented organizationally by separating lines of control, organization structure, policies and procedures, and in technology architecture, configuration, policy, processes and tools. • Solid understanding of IAM, key management, network segmentation, data protection, and zero trust architecture • Familiarity with regulatory and compliance frameworks such as HITRUST, NIST 800-53, SOC 2, HIPAA • Professional certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, or cloud-specific credentials (e.g., AWS Security Specialty, Azure Solutions Architect, GCP Professional Cloud Security Engineer) • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills Preferred Skills & Certifications: • Experience designing security architecture in regulated industries (e.g., healthcare, financial services) • Familiarity with tools such as Azure Security Center, AWS GuardDuty, GCP Security Command Center • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash for automation and tooling • Experience with Kubernetes and container security strategies • Authoring of security policy documents • Design of processes, org structures, org staffing plans • Prior experience in a consulting or client-facing role Soft Skills & Culture Fit: • You champion security as a business enabler, not a bottleneck • You can whiteboard a threat model in the morning and brief an executive board by afternoon • You believe great security architecture is equal parts technology, process, and people • You thrive in ambiguity and love solving complex challenges with practical solutions • You bring empathy, curiosity, and collaboration to every interaction • You can articulate the principles of zero trust using metaphors (bonus points for pizza) Benefits & Compensation: As an employee at Launch, you will grow your skills and experience through a variety of exciting project work (across industries and technologies) with some of the top companies in the world! The anticipated wage range for this role is $180,000-210,000.
