Position summary A Network Administrator will be responsible for assisting in setting up, configuring and supporting internal and/or external networks along with supporting end users on a variety of issues. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Respond to requests for technical support, documenting, tracking and monitoring the problem to ensure a timely resolution. • Maintain an adequate level of knowledge of operating system and application software being used to provide high-level support to users. • Install workstations, servers, printers, applications, and other services according to schedule or as requested. • Add and maintain users on the network; assigning application access, ensuring security and configurations are within standards. • Download and test new versions of client software for workstations and make recommendations based on findings. • Notify maintenance vendor when equipment needs to be repaired and keep records of such. • Ensure efficient and economical utilization of equipment and resources. Provide for safekeeping of equipment and supplies. • Assist in moving PC equipment to different locations. • Perform off-hours / remote work as required for maintenance and to meet project deadlines • Participate in after-hours on-call rotation for emergency support needs • Utilize technology to provide staff with a fast, accurate, and secure method of gaining access to information. • Work with department resources to assist gathering of technical requirements and objectives for individual issues and longer term projects • Assist defining process, procedures, and documentation framework to streamline department operations and knowledge transfer • Cross-train with other department resources to serve as a backup operator of recurring / regular tasks • Carry out other such duties as maybe assigned or requested. Competencies • Microsoft Environment Implementation and Administration including Active Directory, Exchange, Group Policy, IIS, and Powershell • Advanced Desktop and End User Device Troubleshooting • Solid Understanding Network Concepts (OSI model, DNS, DHCP, etc.) • Basic Cisco / Meraki Network Administration including Firewall, Routers, Switches, Access Points, and Remote Access • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including documentation and process development • Results-oriented Additional Technologies • Cisco CUCM / CUC • f5 LTM Load Balancer • Forcepoint Triton Next-Gen Firewall / AP-WEB / NEO • Livevox Contact Center Platform • Microsoft SQL Server • N-Able RMM / PDQ Inventory / PDQ Deploy • Powershell or other scripting language • Rapid7 InsightDR / InsightVM • VMWare ESXI Hypervisor Administration including vCenter / vSAN • Veeam Backup and Recovery Administration Education and Experience • 1-3 years relevant experience • Associates or Bachelor’s degree Computer Science or Computer Engineering preferred or related work experience
