Job title: Senior Data Warehouse & BI Developer Location: Atlanta, GA (Hybrid) Duration: 12 months Note: The candidate MUST come on-site on Day 1 to begin the engagement for a brief orientation and to pick up equipment. The client is allowing telecommuting for this position for immediate future. However, the candidates MUST be available for to work on-site work with short notice. Job Description • Supervise the coordination of design and security for computer databases to store, track, and maintain a large volume of critical business information. • Collaborate with internal customers, prospects, and stakeholders to understand and translate business use cases and/or requirements into data analysis and data mapping. • Develop data integration routines involving the movement, cleansing, and transformation of large volumes of data between multiple systems. • Identify data sources, create data flow diagrams, and document source-to-target mapping and processes. • Collaborate with the Data Architect to recommend optimal data models for ingestion and with BI developers for analytical reporting. • Provide technical enablement to team members developing database applications on-premise or in a cloud environment. • Design, implement, and maintain database objects such as tables, views, indexes, and security structures. • Work closely with data stewards, data owners, and domain experts to promote best practices in reporting and analysis-ensuring data integrity, proper test design, validation, and documentation. • Optimize data warehouse performance, especially for batch processing, through techniques like parallelization and performance tuning. • Partner with the Data Architect to establish governance processes for identifying, collecting, and maintaining educational metadata to ensure accuracy and validity. • Ensure data quality via audit controls, proactive monitoring, and data cleansing techniques. • Maintain integrity of scheduled data processes, perform deployments, and coordinate releases. • Provide on-call support as needed outside of regular business hours. • Utilize source version control systems (e.g., GitHub) and CI/CD pipelines. Requirements • 5+ years of experience in Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence • 3+ years of BI development using Microsoft SQL Server with expert-level T-SQL skills • 5+ years of experience with SSIS and Stored Procedures • 2+ years of experience with Power BI • Experience in ingesting and aggregating data from internal and external sources to build a data warehouse • Strong understanding of data modeling concepts: conceptual, logical, and physical models • Experience with Operational Data Stores, Enterprise Data Warehouses, and Data Marts • Deep knowledge of relational database design and advanced SQL programming • Experience mentoring or guiding junior developers • Strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills • Solid understanding of BI and data warehousing design principles and industry best practices • Bachelor's degree in Computer/Information Sciences, Business, or a related field Preferred (Good to Have) • 1-2 years of experience with Azure Data Warehouse (Synapse) • 1-2 years of experience with Azure Data Factory, SQL Virtual Machines, ETL Development, and Data Lake Required Skills • Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence • BI development leveraging Microsoft SQL Server 2014+. Needs to be an expert in T-SQL • SSIS and use of Stored Procedures • Azure Data Factory, SQL VMs, build and maintain ETL • Azure Data Warehouse (Synapse) (Highly Desired) • Power BI
