Our goal is to make sure all children have the social, emotional, and academic skills they need to learn, grow and realize their potential.About The Role The IT Manager will oversee and manage all aspects of the organization’s technology infrastructure, including network, hardware, software, and data security. This position will be key in supporting Kidango’s mission by ensuring technology systems are reliable, secure, and scalable. The IT Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams to leverage technology to improve operational efficiency and service delivery. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT management, a passion for nonprofit work, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, resource-constrained environment. What You’ll Be Doing Manage and maintain Kidango’s IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, devices, and cloud-based platforms, ensuring all systems run efficiently. Oversee the administration of key systems, such as email, file storage, collaboration tools, and learning management systems, ensuring they meet the needs of staff and stakeholders. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to hardware, software, network connectivity, and cloud applications to minimize downtime and ensure optimal system performance. Develop and implement IT security protocols to protect sensitive data, systems, and networks, ensuring compliance with relevant privacy and data protection regulations. Monitor and enforce cybersecurity practices, including firewalls, encryption, and anti-virus solutions. Oversee data backup and disaster recovery processes, ensuring critical organizational data is regularly backed up and easily recoverable. Provide technical support and guidance to staff and users across multiple locations, troubleshooting issues with software, hardware, and networking. Lead the IT helpdesk team, ensuring timely and efficient resolution of technical support tickets and issues. Develop and deliver training to staff on best practices for technology use, security protocols, and productivity tools. Lead and manage IT projects, including system upgrades, software deployments, and infrastructure improvements, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. Evaluate and recommend new technologies that align with the organization’s goals, helping to increase operational efficiency and enhance educational program delivery. Collaborate with leadership to develop and implement an IT strategy that supports the organization’s mission and long-term growth. Lead and mentor a team of IT professionals, providing coaching, support, and guidance to develop their skills and ensure high performance. Establish clear objectives and performance metrics for the IT team, ensuring effective communication and collaboration across the organization. Other duties as assigned. Preferred qualifications B.S. degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Minimum 5 years IT management experience, with minimum 2 years in a supervisory role. Experience in managing technology systems for nonprofit organizations, educational institutions, or mission-driven entities is preferred. Proven experience with network administration, cloud technologies, cybersecurity practices, and software/hardware support. Proficiency in managing and supporting Microsoft Office 365, Google Workspace, cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Microsoft Azure), and learning management systems. Strong understanding of network architecture, including DNS, DHCP, VPN, and TCP/IP. Experience with data security, backup solutions, disaster recovery, and encryption. Experience with nonprofit CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce) or learning management systems (LMS). Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to address complex IT challenges. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong project management experience (e.g. Agile, E-Rate project planning). Familiarity with ITIL frameworks and compliance with FERPA, HIPAA, NIST compliance preferred. Six Sigma, PMP, Project+, CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified Professional, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)) certifications are a plus.
