Job Title: Power BI Developer & Training Specialist (Government IT Contract) Location: Remote (New York, NY) Employment Type: Part-time Contract (W2 Only – No C2C, No Sponsorships) Project Duration: April 2025 – June 2026 Estimated Hours: 20 hours/week Job Description: We are seeking a skilled and proactive Power BI Administrator/Developer to lead both the technical development of dashboards and the administration of Power BI environments. This position also includes a small training component, where the selected candidate will deliver 8 hours of training to internal staff. The ideal candidate will be self-driven, comfortable working independently, and have hands-on experience with both Power BI and Microsoft Fabric environments. Key Responsibilities: Power BI Administration: ● Manage and optimize Power BI Premium and Microsoft Fabric capacities ● Maintain and secure Power BI workspaces, datasets, and dataflows ● Perform capacity planning, scaling, and migration to Microsoft Fabric ● Troubleshoot performance, connectivity, and access issues ● Ensure security compliance and data governance within the Power BI ecosystem Dashboard & Report Development: ● Design interactive and visually compelling dashboards based on stakeholder needs ● Implement advanced DAX and Power Query solutions for high-performance reporting ● Collaborate with business users to translate requirements into actionable insights ● Maintain performance of reports and optimize data models Data Integration & Migration: ● Integrate data from third-party tools such as JotForm and SurveyMonkey into centralized BI platforms ● Build and maintain data pipelines for long-term sustainability ● Lead post-migration validation and performance tuning Training & Collaboration: ● Deliver 8 hours of training to 6 DYCD staff members on Power BI usage and best practices ● Share knowledge and act as a subject matter expert within the team ● Stay updated with emerging features in Power BI and Microsoft Fabric ● Recommend process improvements and automation strategies within the BI environment Required Qualifications: ● 5+ years of experience with Power BI, including administrative and development aspects ● Proficiency in DAX, Power Query, data modeling, and performance optimization ● Hands-on experience migrating to and managing Microsoft Fabric capacity ● Demonstrated ability to integrate third-party tools into BI ecosystems ● Experience training or mentoring staff on BI tools ● Strong communication and problem-solving skills; ability to work independently Preferred Qualifications: ● Microsoft certifications in Power BI and/or Microsoft Fabric ● Experience with Azure Synapse, Data Lake, or other Fabric-related services ● Experience with PowerShell or REST APIs for BI automation ● Familiarity with Agile methodologies and collaboration tools like JIRA or Trello ● Prior experience supporting public sector or government clients Application Process: Interested candidates should submit the following to hr@paramint.digital: ✔ A resume outlining Power BI development and training experience ✔ Two references from past BI projects ✔ Confirmation of part-time availability (20 hrs/week through June 2026) Job Types: Part-time, Contract Pay: $60.00 per hour Expected hours: 20 per week Schedule: • 4 hour shift • Monday to Friday Work Location: Remote
