Candidates must be able to work in the US without sponsorship.** We are looking for a proactive and skilled Microsoft 365 & SharePoint Administrator - Governance & Automation to manage, evolve, and secure our client’s SharePoint Online and broader M365 environment. This role is deeply involved in data governance, compliance alignment, and automation, with a key focus on platform standardization, M&A support, and unlocking new business value through tools like Power Platform and Copilot. You will be instrumental in implementing our governance framework, supporting scalable collaboration solutions, and ensuring Microsoft services meet both operational and regulatory requirements. Primary Duties • SharePoint & M365 Administration Manage and enhance SharePoint Online, Microsoft 365 services, and integrated Microsoft tools (Teams, OneDrive, etc.). Oversee system health, storage, permissions, and access controls while ensuring high availability and performance. • Governance, Compliance & Architecture Contribute to and execute on the governance framework, helping to standardize site structures, metadata, naming conventions, and provisioning workflows. Ensure all platform activity aligns with internal policies and external compliance requirements. • Security & Risk Management Implement and manage security controls across SharePoint and M365, including role-based access, conditional access, and DLP policies. Collaborate with security teams to ensure compliance with regulatory standards. • Integration & M&A Support Support onboarding and integration efforts during mergers and acquisitions. Standardize SharePoint environments, develop reusable site templates, and streamline user provisioning and content migration. • Automation & Optimization Leverage Power Automate, PowerShell, and other M365 tools to automate manual processes, enforce governance rules, and enhance user workflows. Build scalable solutions to reduce overhead and improve operational efficiency. • Innovation & New Use Cases Explore emerging SharePoint capabilities—including AI/Copilot integration, enhanced search experiences, and information protection features—to drive continuous improvement and smarter content management. • User Enablement & Support Provide tier 2/3 support, technical guidance, and governance-focused training to end users. Create documentation, templates, and knowledge base materials to promote platform consistency and adoption. Nice to Have Skills • Power Platform Proficiency Experience building with PowerApps and Power Automate to extend SharePoint capabilities and digitize business processes. • Advanced Scripting Strong PowerShell scripting skills for automation, reporting, and configuration management within M365. • Migration Experience Familiarity with SharePoint migration tools and strategies, including content consolidation and tenant-to-tenant moves. • Data Governance Expertise Deep understanding of data lifecycle, classification, retention, and content discovery within M365 compliance center or Microsoft Purview. • Cross-Platform Integration Experience integrating SharePoint with third-party tools or line-of-business applications using APIs, Graph, or Logic Apps.
