About the role We are seeking an experienced M365 Copilot Architect to lead the design, governance, and implementation of Microsoft 365 Copilot solutions as part of our Copilot Center of Excellence (CoE). The ideal candidate will define architectural blueprints, establish best practices, and drive the organization’s adoption of AI-powered productivity and collaboration through Microsoft Copilot and the broader Microsoft 365 ecosystem. This role demands a blend of deep technical expertise, strategic vision, and strong business acumen to align Copilot adoption with enterprise objectives across departments, ensuring scalability, compliance, and measurable business outcomes. What you'll do in this role Key Responsibilities: 1. Architecture & Solution Design • Define and own the end-to-end architecture for M365 Copilot implementations, including integration with Microsoft Graph, SharePoint, Teams, Viva, and Power Platform. • Establish Copilot deployment models and patterns (e.g., M365 Copilot, Copilot Studio, Custom Copilot, Azure OpenAI integrations). • Design data access and security models ensuring compliance with enterprise governance and data protection policies. • Develop Copilot extensions and plugins for specific business use cases leveraging Graph connectors, Power Automate, and custom APIs. 2. Center of Excellence Leadership • Lead the Copilot CoE by defining governance frameworks, usage guidelines, and operating models for sustainable enterprise adoption. • Build and maintain reference architectures, reusable assets, and best practices documentation. • Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to identify high-impact Copilot use cases and guide solution development. • Establish metrics and dashboards to measure Copilot adoption, ROI, and business value realization. 3. Technical Expertise & Enablement • Provide technical leadership on M365, including SharePoint Online, Teams, Exchange, OneDrive, Microsoft Graph, Power Platform, and Azure services. • Guide developers and solution teams in creating custom Copilots using Copilot Studio and integrating with enterprise data sources. • Drive prompt engineering and model optimization practices for business-specific scenarios. • Stay current with Microsoft’s AI and Copilot roadmap, incorporating new features into the enterprise architecture strategy. 4. Security, Compliance & Governance • Partner with Security and Compliance teams to ensure Copilot access controls, DLP, and data classification are effectively applied. • Ensure Copilot deployments adhere to information governance, privacy, and responsible AI principles. • Define policies for Copilot data boundaries, tenant restrictions, and role-based access to sensitive content. 5. Stakeholder Engagement & Change Management • Work closely with business units to identify and prioritize Copilot opportunities aligned with strategic objectives. • Conduct executive briefings, workshops, and proof-of-value sessions to evangelize Copilot capabilities. • Partner with training and adoption teams to drive user enablement and change management initiatives. Innovation & Thought Leadership • Stay updated with Microsoft’s roadmap and emerging AI capabilities. • Contribute to the CoE by publishing whitepapers, best practices, and reusable assets. Required Skills and Experience: Technical Skills • 12+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, M365 solutions, or AI-driven productivity platforms. • Deep expertise in Microsoft 365 services: SharePoint Online, Teams, Power Platform, Microsoft Graph, Entra ID (Azure AD). • Strong understanding of Microsoft Copilot ecosystem: • M365 Copilot and Microsoft Graph integrations • Copilot Studio and custom plugin development • Power Platform AI Builder and OpenAI APIs • Experience with Azure services (Cognitive Search, OpenAI, Logic Apps, Azure Functions). • Understanding of data governance, compliance, and security controls in Microsoft Cloud environments. • Knowledge of AI prompt design, semantic index optimization, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) concepts is a plus. • Experience with enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman, etc.).
