Description The Azure Cloud Architect will play a crucial role in supporting the Infrastructure Section with multiple projects and related setups. This position requires expertise in Azure Cloud and NetAPP, with responsibilities including the setup of Azure environments to benefit the Department of Environment Quality (DEQ). The role involves collaboration with the Department of Information and Technology and Microsoft Azure Support Teams for designing and implementing services such as virtual machines, databases, firewall rules, and VPN tunnels, particularly for the Permit Transformation Project. Skills • Expertise in Azure Cloud services • Proficiency with NetAPP • Experience with Microsoft Dynamic CRM (a plus) • Knowledge of MDM management and VNet groups • Familiarity with creating custom images and VDI/Hypervisor environments • Strong understanding of directory services (Azure AD and AD) • Thorough knowledge of firewalls, access groups, rules, and VPN gateways Responsibilities • Setup of customer-owned environments, including creating images, VNet, and VPN gateways • Establish VDI machines based on custom images • Implement Intune for managing VDI machines and assign resources to various resource groups • Document the DevOps environment and set up proper rights • Conduct knowledge sharing and training with team members during downtime Qualifications • 5+ years of experience as an Azure Cloud Architect, including skills in custom imaging and VDI/Hypervisor • 5+ years of experience with Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager/SCCM • 5+ years of demonstrated knowledge of directory services (Azure AD and AD) • 5+ years of thorough knowledge of firewalls and inter-operations between technologies Education Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field Education Requirements Credential Category • Relevant certifications in Azure and related technologies preferred Experience Requirements • At least 5 years of relevant experience in Azure Cloud architecture and technology Why work in Raleigh, NC Raleigh offers a vibrant tech scene and is known as a hub for innovation and education.
