The Microsoft 365 Engineer serves as a subject matter expert and provides guidance throughout the Microsoft 365 suite of products. Primary focus will be SharePoint online, but responsible for the design and development of policies, configurations focusing on security and optimization. Other Microsoft 365 areas such as Exchange Online, Teams, and Intune mobile device management are in focus for this role as well. Evaluates current state of the Microsoft 365 space to understand capabilities and recommend solutions to promote continuous improvement. Works with non-technical business owners to understand needs and develop technical solutions. Participates in the layout design and implementation of new features or modification of existing configurations and compliance policies. Identifies and resolves existing system deficiencies. Must have strong communication skills to interact with business counterparts. Conducts basic investigation and follows standards to resolve or escalate; monitors and improves systems to optimize performance and uptime. • Develops documentation (key written project deliverable) and/or oversees and approves the creation of design documentation. • Ensures compliance of systems through existing standards and procedures; identifies gaps in compliance and remediates in a timely manner. Diagnoses and resolves software issues across a range of Microsoft 365 software applications. • Performs expert level troubleshooting and problem solves both independently as well as with the help of product support resources with least impact to business performance. Be available for providing after-hours/weekend/holiday production support when called upon. May provide support on a 24-hour basis by participating in the on-call rotation. • Maintains and protects confidentiality regarding all aspects of information. Job Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, and 3 relevant experience, or 7 years equivalent experience. • Demonstrated Expertise in SharePoint Online Engineering and Administration • Microsoft 365 certifications such as Messaging Administrator Associate, Teamwork Administrator Associate, Enterprise Administrator Expert, or equivalent Certifications desired. • Experience with advanced deployment and configuration of Microsoft Purview compliance policies such as data loss prevention, data lifecycle management, information protection, and privacy risk management. • Advanced knowledge of Powershell scripting language desired. • Advanced knowledge of security and regulatory compliance frameworks experience in HITEC, HIPPA, ITIL preferred. The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including skill sets, experience, education and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It’s not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are arrived at each unique case.
