As part of a team still in its early stages, you will play a critical role in shaping the foundation, strategy, and future direction of our enterprise data and analytics capabilities. This is a high-impact position with the opportunity to help build a modern, scalable foundation for future analytics and business insights across all of our core business units. In this hybrid role, you will work across the full data lifecycle - ingesting complex data from a variety of cloud and on-premises sources, transforming it into clean and trusted datasets, and diving deep into analysis to uncover insights that drive better decisions across the business. Essential Functions • Design, build, and optimize scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and curated datasets in cloud environments, leveraging T-SQL, PySpark, and SparkSQL for data transformations, with an eye toward incorporating Change Data Capture (CDC) techniques where appropriate for incremental data processing. • Contribute to the integration of data from diverse sources into a scalable and governed lakehouse architecture built on Databricks Unity Catalog, following best practices for storage, transformation, and orchestration. • Work with SAP systems to integrate business-critical data into Azure-based analytics and reporting workflows. • Support the modernization of legacy SSIS ETL processes, including evaluating and implementing more scalable, maintainable alternatives. • Contribute to the design and implementation of pipelines to capture and integrate IoT data streams into the enterprise data ecosystem. • Design, refactor, and optimize data models and curated datasets to improve performance, scalability, and maintainability across analytics and reporting use cases. • Perform exploratory analysis to uncover trends, patterns, and key insights that drive better business decisions across departments. • Assist team in deploying machine learning models into production data pipelines (Databricks MLflow, Azure ML). • Use GitHub for source control, versioning, and collaborative code review across data workflows. • Understand and apply Azure and Databricks security best practices, with familiarity in configuring access controls, permissions models (RBAC, ACLs), and governance tools like Unity Catalog. • Collaborate with cloud infrastructure and security teams to ensure data assets are protected in line with organizational standards. Required Skills & Experience • 5+ years of experience in the data space as an analyst, engineer or equivalent technical role. • Proven experience with Azure Data Lake Gen2, Azure Data Factory, and Databricks, including migrating data into modern cloud lakehouse architectures. • Expertise in T-SQL for SQL Server-based transformations, and PySpark/SparkSQL for building distributed data pipelines in Databricks. • Proficiency in Python for data processing and transformation tasks. • Familiarity with SAP data and its integration into analytics and reporting workflows is strongly preferred. • Experience ingesting, storing, and managing IoT/streaming data into a cloud-based architecture. • Highly skilled in designing and developing Power BI semantic models and dashboards. • Strong understanding of data modeling (dimensional models, star schema, SCDs). • Exposure to building and deploying predictive models integrated into production pipelines. • Familiarity with Azure and Databricks security models, including RBAC, access controls, and Unity Catalog governance frameworks. • Hands-on experience using GitHub for version control and team collaboration.
