Do Your Talents Include the Following? • You demonstrate Leadership & Management capabilities through the following: • You care about the success and well-being of both your clients and colleagues. • You collaborate by creating a team environment where everyone feels that they are valued, welcomed, and can contribute their ideas. • You deliver and earn the trust of your clients and colleagues by building best-in-class solutions and managing deliverables. • You have experience with many and familiarity with most of the following Concepts and Methodologies: • Deep understanding of Databricks architecture, Delta Lake, Spark, and related technologies. • Experience in designing and implementing performant and scalable data lakehouse solutions on Databricks that align to industry best practices. • Proficiency in data ingestion, transformation, and loading using batch and streaming patterns. • Expertise in building and orchestrating complex data pipelines using Delta Live Tables, Spark, and other tools like Azure Data Factory/Synapse Pipelines. • Skills in optimizing Spark workloads and Databricks clusters for maximum performance and cost-efficiency. • Proven ability to implement robust data governance and security practices within Databricks, including Unity Catalog, data quality rules, role-based access control, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. • Familiarity with Azure cloud infrastructure and services relevant to Databricks deployments. • Experience with monitoring and observability tools to track job performance, cluster health, and set up alerts. • Familiarity with automating Databricks CI/CD deployments using tools like Azure DevOps, Terraform, and GitHub • Ability to work effectively with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to deliver impactful data solutions. • Experience in implementing data quality checks, validation frameworks, and anomaly detection techniques to ensure data accuracy and reliability. • Ability to design and architect scalable and maintainable Databricks solutions that meet business requirements and align with industry best practices • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and their application in data engineering projects, enabling iterative development and rapid delivery of value • Proficiency in SQL and bonus for familiarity with any of the programming languages utilized within the Microsoft Data Platform stack, such as Python, Spark, C#, Java, Scala, R, DAX, MDX, or M. • Advanced certification is preferred (see Recommended Qualifications). • Bonus: Experience with Data Science and/or Machine Learning. • Competency with at least 3 and exposure to most of these technologies: • Databricks (Delta Lake, Spark, Spark SQL, Structured Streaming) • Azure Data Factory or Azure Synapse Pipelines • Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2 • Azure Event Hubs or Kafka • Git-based version control • Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates • Monitoring, logging, and alerting tools • Power BI Your Educational and Professional Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., MIS, CIS, Analytics) • 5+ years of experience in data engineering or a related field • 2+ years of experience with Databricks • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite applications with a specific emphasis on Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
