SCOPE The System Administrator’s role is to ensure the stable operation of the company’s computer network and infrastructure. This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all network hardware, servers, desktops/laptops, software, and communication links. The person will also analyze and resolve end user hardware and software computer problems in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end user training where required. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Manage and set priorities for the design, maintenance, development, and evaluation of all infrastructure systems, including VMWare servers, LANs, WANs, Internet, intranet, security, wireless implementations, Office 365, and so on. • Oversee installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of end user workstation hardware, software, and peripheral devices. • Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards in support of network procurement and development efforts. • Manage servers, including e-mail, print, and backup servers and their associated operating systems and software. • Manage security solutions, including firewall, next gen anti-virus, and intrusion detection systems. • Manage all network hardware and equipment, including routers, switches, and UPSs. • Work closely with help desk technicians to implement and perform problem management. • Work with managed service providers to ensure proper monitoring of environment and escalation of issues. • All other duties as assigned. PHYSICAL DEMANDS • Standard demands are below. • Must be able to physically perform the functions of climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time and interact with computers, telephone and other electronic media • Must possess visual acuity to document company records • Must be able to lift 20 pounds • Must be able to work extended hours, such as daily overtime and an occasional weekend QUALIFICATIONS • 5+ years IT industry experience and 4 years of Computer Science education with Bachelor Degree. • 2+ years of full-time technical experience that includes maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, deployment, upgrades, enhancements, and configuration of hardware, software and operating systems in a networked production environment (PC and Macintosh) • 2+ years supporting, troubleshooting and installing Microsoft Office 2016 – 2019, Adobe, VMWare, Office 365, and Microsoft Active Directory (ADUC, GPOs, DFS replication, etc.) • Experience with Dell and Apple hardware, Windows 10/11, Windows Server 2012 – 2022, Anti-Virus, VPN, SCCM, UCaaS, and Powershell scripting. Microsoft certified professional a plus • Demonstrate a very high sense of urgency. Speed to market is critical. • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem solving skills. • Very strong troubleshooting , prioritization, self-motivation, analytical, organizational and communication skills • Excellent research skills, with an ability to evaluate the options and present to leadership • Works well in dynamic environment, ability to handle pressured situations and respond/adapt to new demands and changing priorities • Ability to take on new tasks and learn new technologies in a fast-paced work environment • Should have positive, constructive attitude and the ability to work both independently and in a team environment • Ability to deliver results and to effectively manage and prioritize multiple projects and other responsibilities • Be able to work with people with a variety of different technical skill levels
