Please take a moment to browse through our website and learn more about what it means to serve with MKS2.   We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Database Administrator (DBA) to support the Department of Veterans Affairs Human Capital Services Center (HCSC). This role is fully remote and requires a U.S. citizen due to the nature of the federal contract. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database management, performance tuning, and cloud infrastructure, with specific experience in the healthcare industry. Key Responsibilities: Administer, maintain, and optimize databases including Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, and ETL processes. Develop and execute complex SQL queries to support data analysis and reporting needs. Monitor database performance and implement tuning strategies to ensure optimal operation. Ensure data integrity, security, and availability across all database systems. Collaborate with IT support teams to troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues. Support data migration and integration efforts within cloud-based environments. Maintain documentation for database configurations, procedures, and standards. Required Qualifications: U.S. Citizenship is mandatory. Public Trust Clearance eligibility Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. 3 to 5 years of proven experience as a Database Administrator, preferably in the healthcare industry. Strong proficiency in SQL, ETL, and database performance optimization. Experience with cloud infrastructure and database hosting in cloud environments. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and collaboration abilities. Preferred Skills: Experience working with federal agencies or government contracts. Familiarity with data governance and compliance standards in healthcare (e.g., HIPAA). Knowledge of DevOps practices and automation tools.
