Sr Network Engineer (Onsite) Primary Location: Lexington, Kentucky V-Soft Consulting is currently hiring for a Sr Network Engineer for our premier client in Lexington, Kentucky. Education And Experience » • Able to analyze problems, perform troubleshooting, and respond to incidents. • 5 or more years of Network Engineering experience. • Experience with SolarWinds monitoring tools. • Experience with Cisco Firepower. • Solid documentation experience with Visio, Word, and Excel. • Manufacturing or industrial experience are a plus. Preferred • Azure. • VMware. • Experience with Viptella / Cisco SD-WAN. • Cisco CCNP (Route/Switch). • Cisco ISE. What You’ll Do Job Responsibilities: • Creates and maintaining technical documentation such as topology diagrams and procedures. • Knowledge of current industry standards for network solutions including legacy and software defined. • Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations. • Able to employ network protocols to include, but not limited to: spanning-tree, VLAN tagging, link-aggregation, OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP. • Evaluate products and recommend purchases consistent with the organization’s short and long-term objectives. • Know network management tools and protocols including simple network management protocol (SNMP), logging/syslog, IP accounting, authentication/authorization/accounting (AAA), IP-flow, and NTP. • Understand network constructs such as quality of service, route maps, access control lists, and prefix lists. • Supports deployments and operations of network related items such as switches, routers, wireless access points, wireless controllers, VPN’s. • Able to analyze problems, perform troubleshooting, and respond to incidents in accordance with service level agreements (SLA). • Monitor the performance and capacity of networks and create utilization reports for decision making when needed. • Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.
