Position Summary We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Cloud Architect with a strong specialization in Azure cost analysis and optimization. The primary objective of this role is to transform our cloud billing data into actionable intelligence by assigning accurate total cost of ownership (TCO) to every application and service across all environments (Production, UAT, Dev, Test, etc.). The successful candidate will design and implement a scalable tagging and reporting framework to support cost transparency, financial accountability, and strategic decision-making for new and existing initiatives. This role will also maintain accountability for Azure service mapping within our JIRA-based CMDB and will be instrumental in our FinOps and cost governance strategy. Key Responsibilities • Conduct deep analysis of Azure billing and usage data to assign accurate costs to all applications and services. • Build and maintain a TCO model that clearly articulates cloud spend by application, service, business unit, and environment. • Develop a scalable and enforceable resource tagging strategy to support cost attribution for all current and future services. • Establish reporting processes and dashboards to provide visibility into Azure spend trends, anomalies, and optimization opportunities. • Partner with Engineering, Application Development, and Finance teams to align cloud resource consumption with budget expectations. • Maintain and enhance the cloud dependency mappings within our JIRA-based CMDB, ensuring data integrity and service relationships are current. • Drive continuous improvement of cloud governance practices in alignment with business priorities and security policies. • Provide guidance and standards for application teams to optimize deployments for performance and cost efficiency. • Serve as subject matter expert on Azure pricing models, licensing, and cost forecasting. Required Qualifications • 7+ years of experience in cloud architecture, with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure. • Proven expertise in Azure cost analysis, billing data, and FinOps practices. • Experience implementing and managing cloud tagging strategies at scale. • Deep understanding of Azure cost management tools, APIs, and pricing calculators. • Strong background in cloud infrastructure and service design, including IaaS, PaaS, and serverless models. • Proficiency with cloud monitoring, reporting, and visualization tools such as Power BI, Azure Cost Management + Billing, and Log Analytics. • Experience managing data within a CMDB, ideally integrated with JIRA.
