Job Title: Senior Azure Data Engineer Location: On-Site (EAD, Green Card or US Citizens) Employment Type: Full-time Department: Cloud Engineering / IT Data Reports To: IT Manager Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Azure Data Engineer to support the migration of on-premises data systems to Azure and contribute to the development of modern, cloud-based data solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong experience working with Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Databricks, and related services to build scalable and efficient data pipelines. In this role, you'll collaborate with other data engineers, architects, and IT teams to implement cloud-native workflows, transform legacy ETL processes, and support data integration across various platforms. Key Responsibilities: · Design, implement, and manage Azure-based Data solutions to support enterprise applications, databases, and services. · Design, maintain and schedule end-to-end migration of on-premises applications, and data to Microsoft Azure using Azure Data Factory Pipelines, Synapse Analytics, Databricks, Function App, ADLS and other Azure Services. · Migrate Legacy SSIS packages using ADF Lift and Shift, Data Ingestion using Data Factory, Airflow, and Fabric services. · Import and integrate various data sources, and external API data sources using Python, SQL, Databricks, Data Pipelines. · Collaborate with cross-functional teams (DevOps, Security, Networking, Applications) to ensure smooth cloud transitions. · Monitor Azure resources and implement logging, alerting, and incident response mechanisms. · Ensure compliance with corporate and industry security policies. · Document design, processes, and operational procedures. Required Qualifications: · 7+ years of hands-on experience in IT Data and cloud engineering. · 5+ years of strong experience with Microsoft Azure, including deployments, administration, and migrations. · Experience with big data processing tools and frameworks such as Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse Analytics, Data Factory, Databricks, and Apache Spark. · Hands-on experience with designing and optimizing data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and analysis of large-scale datasets. · Proven experience in migrating on-premises workloads (e.g., SQL Server, SSIS packages, legacy apps, file servers) to Azure using tools such as Azure Migrate, ASR, Data Factory and Azure Database Migration Service. · Strong experience in SQL, ETL/ELT Big Data development, and data modeling (Star Schema, Snowflake Schema, etc.). · Solid understanding of cloud networking (VNet, NSG, VPN, ExpressRoute), identity management (Azure AD, RBAC, MFA), and security best practices. · Hands-on experience with PowerShell, Azure CLI and Cloud shell, ARM templates. · Experience with CI/CD pipelines, version control (e.g., Git), and DevOps practices. Preferred Qualifications: · Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer, Azure Administrator Associate, or equivalent certifications. · Experience with hybrid cloud and tools · Exposure to containerization and orchestration (e.g., Azure Kubernetes Service, Docker). · Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights).
